Evalen contains the active compound adapalene. Adapalene is a third-generation topical retinoid primarily used in the treatment of mild-moderate acne, which works to normalize follicular epithelial cell differentiation resulting in decreased microcomedo formation.

The medication only needs to be used once a day in the evening. If there is no improvement in the skin condition after using adapalene for 3 months
